about

SFFM Partners,

It is with a measure of sadness and with a measure of peace from our Savior that I write this letter today. Virginia Haar, director of Sure Foundation Family Ministry, went home to see our Lord and Savior on April 16, after a long battle with cancer. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, a patient teacher, a gracious leader, a friend to many, and a Godly woman. God used her in incredible ways to minister to the Crow people and to everyone else that God placed in her life.

Ralph and Virginia Haar created SFFM as a tool to minister to the Crow people. We believe the work of SFFM will continue, and we know that things will not look exactly like they did before. The Board of Directors is actively pursuing options for continuing the work we believe SFFM needs to continue. A large part of this continuing work is the Gatekeepers Ministry.

Gatekeepers Ministry is an interdenominational, multiracial ministry of women following the command to Arise, Rebuild, Restore, and Revive, as Gatekeepers of their hearts, homes, and communities. With Bible study participation the backbone of the Gatekeepers Ministry, they conduct regular ministry activities attempting to attract young parents, offering support and encouragement, with a goal of seeing firm families built on the firm foundation of God's Word. Gatekeepers Ministry leaders are committed to developing their leadership skills, expanding the Gatekeepers Ministry by offering small group studies and mentorship of young women in their own workplace, church, or community setting. The Gatekeepers are very much active and pressing on with the work God has provided. SFFM is committed to supporting them in this work.

The Gatekeepers are planning a special service to remember Virginia. This service will be held at Spirit of Life Church in Crow Agency, Montana, on Saturday, June 12 at 1 PM. We will post details on the website as they become available.

We would like to thank you for your support of Sure Foundation Family Ministry over the years. Please prayerfully consider your continued involvement in the ministry. Please pray for the transition that is occurring. Please pray that the work of the Gospel will continue in the Crow and Northern Cheyenne people.

Grace and peace,

Cody Haar
Board Member, Sure Foundation Family Ministry

Virginia's Obituary

Sure Foundation Family Ministry opens its heart to the families of the Crow Indian Reservation in south central Montana.  Through the study and application of scripture related to familes, we promote positive family life along with healing of childhood suffering experienced by parents.  Through teaching, mentoring, and empowering, we expect to see stable families on the firm foundation of God's Word.

By providing opportunities for neighboring churches and groups to participate in joint worship, fellowship and outreach, we are helping to build healthy relationships and bridges of friendship beween communities, races, and denominations.
